Combined Electrical has twenty-five years’ experience working on a wide range of Defence projects. This knowledge places Combined Electrical in a highly competitive position against national players. Financial stability, and a proven record of providing a high standard of project management, client communication and design engineering, contributed to Combined Electrical being awarded the RAAF Base Tindal Sensory Equipment Building electrical services package and associated civil works.
This was a highly significant contract working with Lendlease, which is an international tier 1 development and construction company. There were many demanding benchmarks to meet with Lendlease, which made this contract even more significant for the company, as it proves Combined Electrical operate to a very high standard.
The majority of the works were conducted outside RAAF Base Tindal with the main aim being to provide electrical and communications infrastructure. This included, significant UPS systems, for an uninterruptible power supply; switchboards; emergency generator; mechanical services; communications pit and pipe infrastructure; and electrical and communications internal and external to the building.
To successfully complete the project Combined Electrical provided a significant extension to the base high-voltage ring main, conducted major excavation works and installed conduit and HV cable infrastructure. A new high-voltage kiosk substation to service the building with a standby generator was essential to the project.
Combined Electrical provided detailed engineered drawings on all facets of the job.
Workplace Health and Safety was critical to the success of the project.Through reflection, and experience gained, both prior to and on this project, Combined Electrical have achieved an exemplary record in regard to WHSE on this project. As a result of the RAAF Base Tindal project Combined Electrical has created a footprint, which will benefit future projects, whilst reinforcing Combined Electrical’s position as a contractor of choice, and a benchmark electrical contractor in the NT.
